5 Honeymoon Planning Tips from Travel-Ticker

To contact us Click HERE
Are you planning a price-conscious honeymoon?
If you're like most brides or grooms-to be, you likely do not want to spend tons of money right after the wedding, especially when there are more important things to invest in (a home comes to mind). However, you still want to celebrate each other over a honeymoon. Don't fret. Seek out online travel discount sites such as Travel-Ticker.com to reconsider the extravagant honeymoon that's often shrugged off by most newlyweds. Make sure to visit different travel sites and subscribe to their newsletters and alerts to get the latest information on travel discounts to help you plan a marvelous, yet affordable honeymoon.

Are your honeymoon dates flexible?
If the date isn't set in stone, booking a trip on a whim can be an exciting way to start your honeymoon. Contrary to what many people believe, booking a trip last minute can actually save you money. Your best bet for getting a great last minute deal is to be flexible with your travel dates. This helps to open up opportunities to travel to locations during their off-seasons when prices are often significantly cheaper.

Do you have a specific destination in mind or are you open to suggestions?
Whether you have a specific destination in mind or not, letting the deal be the inspiration can not only lead you to somewhere amazing that you never thought of before, but it can also get you a great price on the destination of your dreams. Go ahead and make planning your trip fun and exciting by browsing different travel sites and magazines to see which destinations pop out or call to you.

What's the desired length of your honeymoon?
Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a two week vacation, all-inclusive packages are the way to go. Although you might think that a longer honeymoon will cost more than a few nights away, that is not always the case. Sometimes there are phenomenal travel packages and deals on extended trips that average about the same cost as a weekend getaway. The key to getting these savings is to do your research and look for the best deals, some of which may have mid-week departure and return dates. Be flexible and patient as you do your research to plan the perfect, affordable honeymoon.

What activities, if any, would you like to plan for your honeymoon?
Whether you envision you and your hubby relaxing on a beach, touring a big city, or doing both, finding a location that caters to your interests is just as important as the cost. Travel-Ticker.com's Interests tab can be a great resource for finding the right destination for you and your significant other. Choose your destination based on your dream activities, and you'll be guaranteed a fantastic honeymoon.

Tips for Choosing a Turks and Caicos Resort

To contact us Click HERE
In the midst of the blue Caribbean seas are forty pristine, secluded islands with waving palm trees, white sands and calm surf. These are the Turks and Caicos Islands, a popular vacation retreat for the rich and famous. There are a number of accommodation options available for holidaymakers seeking a little slice of paradise in the Turks and Caicos. Oceanfront resorts, luxury hotels or simple chalets - whatever takes your fancy, there is bound to be a perfect room for your preferences.Choose your baseThere are only eight inhabited islands in the Turks and Caicos, of which the two largest are Grand Turk and Providenciales. Both offer different experiences. The latter is Turks and Caicos' historical and political capital. There are also a number of world-class dive sites located off Grand Turk. Accommodation on this island is comprised of mostly smaller hotels and inns. Providenciales is the region's most populous island, and it is here that you will find the best Turks and Caicos' luxury resorts, large hotels and all-inclusive establishments.Getting activeThere are more options for water sports and other underwater activities at Providenciales. Grace Bay, the island's most popular beach, is where tourism started in Turks and Caicos. Resorts located in Grace Bay are the perfect launching pad for water babies who can dive, swim, snorkel, paddle, jetski or surf to their heart's content. Not all Turks and Caicos resorts are oceanfront properties, so if water access is important to you, make sure to choose a hotel that is located near the beach.Fun for all the familyIf you are planning to bring your family to the Turks and Caicos, a villa may be a good accommodation choice. There are two or three bedroom villas available on Providenciales, complete with kitchenette. Some even have backyards and private pools. Large groups will find villas more comfortable for the entire family. As an added bonus, this type of accommodation is usually located away from the main tourist track and can give visitors the opportunity to experience more of the local Caribbean culture.All-inclusive optionsMany hotels in the Turks and Caicos offer guests all-inclusive options. Before you choose an all-inclusive vacation, it pays to do the math. Will you use all the services the resort provides? Do you usually drink copious amounts of alcohol on your vacation? Are you planning to leave to go sight-seeing or will you spend most of your time in the resort? Taking these factors into consideration will help you choose the right resort option for your personal travel style.Loll in luxuryThe Caribbean islands host some of the world's most decadent and lavish resorts. One of the best Turks and Caicos luxury resorts is Parrot Cay Resort & Spa. Temporary home to luminaries like Paul McCartney and the Moore-Ellis clan, this resort is so exclusive that guests can only reach it via boat. If you are looking to indulge in extravagance, this Turks and Caicos resort is your ticket to luxury.Rely on reviewsPerhaps the best way of choosing a Turks and Caicos resort is by relying on other holidaymakers' reviews or by word-of-mouth reputation. If the hotel has been around for long enough, it is bound to have established a reputation, for better or for worse. Do your research online, call up and ask your travel agents for their thoughts and recommendations, and review the feedback given by previous guests. Chances are that if a resort is reliable, provides quality customer service and is good value, it will be ranked higher than its competitors.

Island Destination Wedding

To contact us Click HERE
Hi, my name is Cindy. My family and I, including my company, are looking for a destination wedding location on a island.

We found a great location! Somerset Resort on Turks and Caicos Grace Bay Beach.

So far going really well - such professionalism! I've got 12 couples and 3 extended families coming and Suzie, who has been so sweet in reservations, has put us all in penthouse condo suites and 3 bedroom condo suites. We are saving a pile of money!! Who would have thought in the Turks and Caicos that it could be so affordable!! I'm even frugile and it's right up my alley!!! See Becky I did find a place!

The people planning it for me - at no charge - work for the resort. Monique has all of the details together, she is the wedding planner. She's done island weddings for years even though by the look of her she's not too much older than me. And I'm just old enough to get myself downsized at anytime - as all of my friends have been. And they can still afford to come to my destination island wedding on the Turks and Caicos!!! I feel like a superstar!!

Lauren is the chef - she's tres fab! The menu she has created featuring local ingredients - fresh seafood. The photos of the presentation are outstanding.

The Bahamas are so yesterday for destination island weddings. The Turks and Caicos is where it's at...if you want a spectacular and memorable island wedding. What a destination!

As a reference for all of my friends - this is the Turks and Caicos Wedding Resort that we are using:

Turks and Caicos Island Wedding - NOT Sandals Vacation Honeymoon or Wedding- No Way

To contact us Click HERE
Friends and Family - I sent emails to everyone last night letting you know this is where I'll put post information on our upcoming wedding on the island of Turks and Caicos. Just seems easier this way versus emailing the details.

Mom - you'll just have to show grandma how to access the Turks and Caicos Island wedding site.

And yes, I will address all of your questions about the island, weather, etc. Pat and I have picked such a lovely place - you'll all enjoy it I'm sure.

Pat just told me Grace Bay Beach was rated Best in World! The Turks and Caicos Island Resort we selected sits right on Grace Bay Beach. Turks and Caicos has so many lovely beaches but truely Grace Bay Beach is the best - I could have told them that.

As you all know Pat and I have had several vacations to the Caribbean - even since we've been engaged ( can you believe it's been 3 years already!) we've gone on 6 Caribbean vacations! We knew we wanted to have a Caribbean Island Wedding. But didn't want the typical Sandals Wedding - Honeymoon experience. A wedding or honeymoon at Sandals? Not for this girl!

We then went searching for the Island wedding destination in Caribbean that was perfect for us and our family.

This year has not been great for everyone - both Pat and I know that. So the search was on for an affordable wedding Caribbean island destination!

All Inclusive Resort - Turks and Caicos Wedding

To contact us Click HERE
Howdy friends and fam!

Stewart sent me an email wondering if the wedding resort in Turks and Caicos was all inclusive. Are you kidding, me? Me go to another all inclusive resort even in Turks and Caicos and for my wedding! ha ha

Stewart, did you not remember the last all inclusive resort we went to in the Caribbean? The food - yuk and not to mention the beach wedding that was at the other all inclusive resort - Caribbean they all run together!

The bride was upset..the father was yelling at the hotel staff - and the poor groom was just wishing the day was over. I'm sure is was expensive too as Caribbean all inclusive resorts usual are for weddings. Not the way a wedding should be!

Monique should have been planning her wedding - would have went smoother as Monique is a gem!

Also Stewart, we ended up eating every meal in town (thank goodness) because the hotel food was so so so bad! Ended up costing us so much more in the long run. I mean we paid for the food within the room price and then paid for the food in town. What a waste!

The rooms we have blocked have full kitchens - yes full kitchens. No need for all inclusive at this Turks and Caicos resort! We can have the fridges stocked prior to arrival and then that way you can have your protein shake on the terrace (Bridget!) for breakfast, etc.

And guess what, Stewart... the food is awesome!! They have a pool bar that has wonderful sandwiches..salads, and conch fritters!! yum Also the O'Soleil restaurant that everything from fresh seafood to pasta.

hugs and kisses to all!

New Morocco Mall Takes Shoppers Under the Sea

In a new twist on retail as entertainment, visitors to the luxury Morocco Mall in Casablanca will be able to ride an elevator right through the center of an aquarium. What a thrill for kids!

The one-million-liter transparent aquarium - containing more than 1,000 metric tons of saltwater -- is the world’s first and largest acrylic structure of its type, designed and manufactured by ICM (based in Colorado) and Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc.

The 9.3-meter-tall aquarium called Aquadream is truly the centerpiece of this enormous new mall built along Morocco’s Atlantic coast. As any family who has visited the main city of Morocco knows (and this is one visitor's account of their Casablanca trip, they've come a long way from the souk to this.

Unlike the cobblestone streets and tent stalls of Casablanca's Old Town shopping area, Morocco Mall is an air-conditioned showcase of European and North American luxury brands.  What's new and fun is that in addition to window-shopping, visitors can spy on fish behavior and learn something just by boarding the glass lift.

To focus visitors' interest on the importance of preserving the world’s oceans, the glass elevator transports them on a five-minute "ride" into the ocean while traveling in a safe, water-tight cylinder within a cone-shaped acrylic aquarium filled with marine life.

ICM also managed the aquarium installation in its entirety, including designing the coral reef to be accurate, functional, and safe; selecting aquatic animals that cohabitate; and designing the lighting, filtration systems, and control panels for the aquarium with fail safes to keep everything running safely at minimal levels until the full system can be restored.

Additionally, the children will be pleased to know that the backwash recovery system recycles aquarium water, generating significant operational savings for the mall and, of course, for the environment.

Ready to go shopping in the great, free attraction?  Let us know which fish your kids can identify as they travel through it.

Astrological Guide to Best Vacation Destinations

Our thanks to Joanna Martine Woolfolk, author of TheOnly Astrology Book You'll Ever Need, for her unusual view of the best way to choose your family vacation destination. Start by reviewing the astrological sign of whoever is paying for the trip, then work your way through all the travel companions.  We hope it helps you settle the family squabbles in your summer vacation planning!

ARIES
(March 21 – April 19)
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries represents the innovator, the one infront.  Aries likes what’s new and to be the first to do it.  Thereally adventurous Aries wants something unusual – sky diving, rock climbing, trekking through Nepal.  Those who like less strenuous activities enjoynot only the new but exotic – a river cruise through Vietnam, a photo safari inAfrica, taking tango lessons in Argentina.  In a group, Aries is quick toassume the role of leader, and tends to get bored without a lot of stimulationand a sense of discovery.  The experience of the trip is heightened ifit’s to a place Aries hasn’t been before.
TAURUS
(April 20 – May 20)
Taurus tends to be laid back, and enjoys comfort and serenity without too muchphysical exertion.  As a Venus-ruled Earth sign, Taurus loves destinationsthat are home-like, yet with a touch of romance and exoticism.  He or shewould like a luxurious train trip (such as the Orient-Express) through Europe,a cozy inn in the mountains or renting a vacation villa in Tuscany.  Onthe road, Taurus does well traveling in an elegantly-appointed RV with a fewselect loved ones.  Taurus enjoys good food and drink, so any trip shouldinclude places known for good food and beautiful scenery.
GEMINI
(May 21 – June 20)
Gemini is a curious, interested multi-tasker who enjoys a variety ofactivities.  Gemini likes to learn new things, and would enjoy a trip thatincludes museum-hopping, lively night life, musical events, art exhibitions, and day-tripping to out-of-the-way destinations.  Gemini doesn’t like alot of structure or having to adhere to rules, and boredom sets inquickly.  Even a “restful” beach should have entertaining activity (suchas parasailing) and opportunity for discovery (such as underwaterexploration).  Almost any European city offers a perfect Geminiexperience.
CANCER
(June 21 – July 22)
Cancer is a nurturing sign, happiest in the company of people they love. Cancer is the kind of traveler who would prefer to unpack just once and have acentral “nest” from which to explore the surroundings.  For a Europeanvacation, for example, Cancer would take pleasure from a house-exchange orstaying in quaint bed-and-breakfast inns.  A favorite tour is of oldcastles and mansions, and beautiful gardens.  Cancer is a Water signsoothed by being near water, so sharing with favorite family members a rivercruise or a lakeside cabin or an apartment on a picturesque canal is theperfect kind of holiday.
LEO
(July 23 – August 22)
Leo is a people person and likes to be center of attention.  Leo also isdrawn to the glamorous life – to places where celebrities are seen and theglitterati gather.  Leo enjoys art and culture; cities like London, Paris, and New York that offer theater, nightclubs, film festivals, and elegant diningfit Leo’s vacation style.  Leo tends to go for grand tours anddestinations that offer all the amenities.  Whether it’s a hotel, a spa ora yacht, it should be a luxury experience.  Leo likes to feel special andtravel first class, and certainly wouldn’t enjoy a trip on which he or she hasto watch pennies.
VIRGO
(August 23 – September 22)
As an intellectually curious Earth sign, Virgo prizes order andstructure.  Virgo likes to know what to expect and, being a goodorganizer, enjoys planning an itinerary in advance.  Fond of digging intonew subjects, he or she would enjoy museums devoted to a specific theme (forexample, a museum of Indian culture, a museum of railway history), a cruisefocusing on wine, a walking tour of London’s famous writers, a trip thatteaches photography.  Virgo is the sign of “utilization,” and thereforeenjoys practical knowledge (how to cook, how to recognize architecturalstyles).
LIBRA
(September 23 – October 22)
Libra is artistic and romantic, drawn to aesthetics, and very otheroriented.  He or she should travel with a partner – a close family member, friend, or (best of all) a lover – because, for Libra, an experience is madejoyous by sharing it.  Libra also adores pampering, so even on anadventure trip (such as a safari) Libra leans toward elegance rather thanroughing it.  Destinations that include romantic dining, art and music, anafternoon at a spa are in tune with Libran sensibilities.  Libra alsolikes to shop, and interesting marketplaces should be on Libra’s travel agenda.
SCORPIO
(October 23 – November 21)

Scorpio is highly intelligent, intense, and a control freak – and the result isa traveler who cares passionately about every aspect of the journey. Scorpio tends to micro-manage details and to become immersed in the culture ofa destination.  Scorpio is interested in exotic, less-traveled places and, being a Water sign, drawn to the water.  Engaging expeditions would be tothe Galapagos Islands to see wildlife in its natural habitat, a boat trip onthe Yangtze River in China, visiting ancient temples in Cambodia.  Scorpiodoesn’t mind traveling alone and having free time for solitary exploration.
SAGITTARIUS
(November 22 – December 21)
Sagittarius is the sign of “journeys of the body, mind and spirit,” and itsnatives take to travel the way a butterfly takes wing.  Essentially, theSagittarian looks for freedom and expansive spaces, so he or she is anexplorer.  Whether visiting a city or the countryside, Sagittarius must beable to roam and discover – and most definitely is not an organized-tour typeof person.  Most comfortable in the great outdoors, good choices forSagittarius are trekking through Grand Canyon, climbing Mayan ruins inGuatemala, hiking up to Machu Picchu, photographing the elusive gorilla inUganda.
CAPRICORN
(December 22 – January 19)
Capricorn is highly focused, a deep thinker, and needs control.  Like allthe Earth signs, Capricorn is fond of stability.  In travel, Capricorntakes charge of its own schedule and is not afraid to be on its own. Capricorn is drawn to the past and fond of history – a tour of Egyptianantiquities, learning about past European royalty, or studying the Arabicinfluence in Spain would appeal.  Capricorn is physically strong and couldwithstand the rigors of an adventure trip to South America or to Australia tostudy the history of the aboriginals.  Capricorn gravitates toward travelthat’s different.
AQUARIUS
(January 20 – February 18)
Aquarius is a curious Air sign who lives in the mind and experiences the worldthrough intellect.  A maverick who marches to a different drummer,Aquarius seeks out the unique, avoiding places where tourists flock.  However,he or she does enjoy meeting new people and can be found joining in livelyconversation with the locals – whether or not they speak the samelanguage.  Travel that would stimulate Aquarius is an eco-trip throughBrazil, exploring Alaska by floatplane, renting a beach house in Thailand, aScandinavian visit focusing on folklore and folk crafts.  Aquariusgravitates toward the quirky and one-of-a-kind.
PISCES
(February 19 – March 20)
Pisces is the dreamer and poet, drawn to travel that fills the soul and createsserenity.  This can be as simple as a weekend of de-stressing at a spa, oras exotic as looking for the spiritual in a Tibetan monastery.  Pisceswants to enlarge its vision, whether this means interior soul-searching orexterior exploration.  A trip to Sedona or Santa Fe, touring the tombs ofEgyptian pharaohs, seeing Stonehenge, or visiting ancient cathedrals all strikea chord with Pisces.  Pisces dislikes highly commercial places (forexample, Las Vegas), and because of sensitive feet shies away from strenuoustrekking.

A History of Romance - Rendezvous in St. Lucia

To contact us Click HERE

Rendezvous Hotel in St. Lucia is known as The Boutique Hotel for Couples. Yes, this is true. The hotel is small, intimate & charming, having only around 100 rooms. It is luxurious and all-inclusive too. But what I really like, is the romantic history of the hotel's origin... in a time when life was less complicated and vacations were never taken for granted.

Imagine arriving in St. Lucia in the 1960s when the island was home to only a few hotels. You deplane but opt to make your first stop the lovely white sand beach to the north of the air strip. You walk down this amazing little gem of a beach, taking in the views and gazing in amazement at the tropical gardens lining the sugary sand. Soon a building with a large verandah comes into view. The Verandah is welcoming, with a bar at one end. There's even a butler serving drinks. He serves you a cool and refreshing cocktail of choice. Conversation flows with the rum but soon it is time to go. When you ask for the bill, you are told there is no bill, for this is a private home and the kind gentleman who kept you company at the bar is the homeowner.

That's the story the hotel's owner Andrew Barnard proudly shared with our office last week about his grandfather's property. He had our full attention as he divulged an abbreviated version of how the Rendezvous in St. Lucia came about. How after realizing his property was desirable to those walking by, his grandfather built 12 private beach cottages and offered them for rent. The 12 cottages have grown into a 100 room resort, but the same friendly service remains.

Rendezvous is the boutique hotel for couples. Smaller than most all-inclusive resorts, yet large in its offerings. The hotel is offering a few not-to-be missed summer promos right now. Contact our Caribbean Travel Specialists for a complete quote!

Before You Go.... Call Your Bank

To contact us Click HERE
Why? Because banks are always on the lookout for fraudulent charges and if they see charges coming through your account from outside the US, and you have not informed them of your travels, there is a chance they will start denying charges on your debit card. A quick call before you depart, to inform them of your trip, is a smart idea! You might also want to call any credit card company you plan on using while traveling and advise them of the locations you will visit as well.

{In case you are wondering, we do still recommend using a debit or credit card for your travels - rather than a cash. It is not convenient to carry large amounts of cash while traveling and ATMs in the Caribbean & Mexico will dispense local currency.}

My Visit to Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall

To contact us Click HERE

On my trip to Jamaica this past April, I was able to sneak away from my family for a few hours and visit the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall in Montego Bay. I've sold this hotel many, many times for honeymooners, anniversary clients and also Destination Wedding couples.

There are a few hotels we work with that we NEVER hear a complaint on... this being one. I was thrilled to be able to visit and see what everyone else loves about this adults only, all-inclusive, luxury resort.
The rooms are well-appointed, the bathrooms complete with little touches of luxury... but perhaps my favorite part about the accommodation was the outdoor living space. Each terrace features teak tiles that give it a warm and inviting feel and are equipped with a rattan swing for two...

There are multiple restaurants on property and all were spotless and inviting.

We dined at Es Palau, the gourmet restaurant on proprety. The food was superb! No complaints....

My favorite areas on property were the pool deck and beach... This hotel does it right when it comes to sun, sand, and water.

There were 3 main pool areas... two on the quiet side and one more active, complete with swim-up bar.

There's a hot tub with a beach view too...

And then there's the beach... I'll be honest, Montego Bay, Jamaica is not what I think of when I want a stellar beach desitnation. The town is fun, the water clear, and proximity to the airport is a plus, but the beaches have never really impressed me. Until now...

My photos don't do the beach justice, but it is perfection! Soft warm sand, gentle waves, and the best part of all is the beach stretches easily for a few miles. While most Montego Bay beaches are small bays, this one is actually long enough to get in some good beach walks.

Heading back inside for a little reprieve from the blinding sun and you will find the spa. I'm not holding back in saying that I was truly impressed by the spa. I only toured the facility and was immediately relaxed as soon as I walked in. The sights, sounds, and smells instantly sent my mind wandering and wondering how I could pull off another 2 hours here so I could take advantage of a treatment!

This concludes my wonderful visit. I will be back!

On a side note, it is important to know that this Iberstar has two sister properties on the same beach - the Iberostar Rose Hall Suite and Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Hotel. Both allow kids and are at a lower price point - but when you stay at the Grand, you have access to all 3 resorts, making this a perfect option for a multi-generational family reunion, destination wedding, or group trip! If you're ready to book your own visit to the Iberostar Grand Rose Hotel, please contact us.

Cheers,
