Sandals Resorts BIGGEST Sale of the YEAR!

To contact us Click HERE

{This is Sandals Royal Plantation}
Sandals Resorts has extended their cyber sale until Friday! Rates are deeply discounted, the biggest discounts we've seen all year. For example, Sandals Grande Riviera fresh from a $60 million renovation, is on sale starting at $198/per person, per night. Have you seen these changes at this property? Very impressive!
The Super Luxurious Sandals Emerald Bay is as low as $270/per person, per night. My personal favorite, Sandals Royal Plantation is the resort chains answer to the boutique hotel. Although it offers all of the large resort amenities, Sandals Royal Plantation is sweet, charming & intimate. I also love Sandals Whitehouse - mainly for the amazing beach - pristine, white powdery sand. When you float in the ocean here, you can gaze at the misty covered mountains... PERFECTION! Sandals Whitehouse is one sale starting at $220/per person, per night. BOOK NOW - or contact me with any questions!

Beach Junkies is off again! This time we are going back to the beach where we got married, Bavaro Beach celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary! We will be returning to NH Real Arena which just got re-branded as NOW Larimar.  This is only the second time we have returned for a repeat visit to any resort. The only other time we did it was 5 years ago for our wedding.

The sister resort of NOW Larimar is Secrets Royal Beach which is right beside the resort. We were lucky enough to schedule a tour of the resort during our stay so we can at least show you all a new resort while visiting an old favorite.

We will also be visiting Raphael again at Macao Surf Camp! I've heard they've added a new camp hut which was under construction when we were there so we can't wait to see that! I hope I have a better performance than last time, which was absolutely dreadful lol!

So stay tuned for our first re-branding edition and first ever resort tour post!

Dorothy's Ruby Slippers Come Home to New York

To contact us Click HERE
Have you ever dreamed of walking in someone else's shoes, perhaps Dorothy's slippers from "The Wizard of Oz?" This post is about a once in a lifetime opportunity for that certain mother or daughter... could that be you?

On December 5th in the Tea Room of New York's swanky Hotel Plaza Athénée (yes, a very long way from Kansas, Dorothy), you'll be able to dine on petit fours while ogling the actual Ruby Slippers worn by Judy Garland in the original "The Wizard of Oz." This unusual High Tea will take place from 4pm-6pm and costs $75 per person.

The private viewing of the red-sequined pumps (in the book they were silver but in those early Technicolor days the director declared they had to be red) marks their brief visit to New York City prior to being auctioned in California by Profiles in History. According to their owner, this pair was used when Dorothy clicks her heels three times to return to Kansas, stating “There’s no place like home.” The slippers are currently appraised in excess of $3 million and if you really really want them, auction information can be found on the website www.profilesinhistory.com.

"We are extremely proud to organize this magical afternoon which is a perfect way to celebrate the holiday season," said Bernard Lackner, General Manager of the Plaza Athénée. "Our hotel has had a long history of welcoming some of the greatest movie stars from Hollywood. Hosting the Ruby Slippers is nothing short of hosting a moment of American movie history."

According to Mr. Lackner, all attendees will have a "unique opportunity to have an up close and personal look at the iconic pair of shoes." Alas, you will not be able to walk in them but the encounter is sure to be... magical.

To reserve your table at the Hotel Plaza Athénée, please visit the site or book with Cheryl Plonski at 212/606-4635.

A Tale of Giving Thanks in Tulum

To contact us Click HERE
Last month, my husband & I took our two oldest kids on a trip to Tulum, Mexico. Our older kids have been so great in adjusting to having twin little sisters that we thought they needed some alone time with mom & dad. Tulum is a great place for older kids because of the easy access to the Mayan Riuns & Cenotes.
There are over 700 cenotes in the YucatanPeninsula. We decided on Cenotes Labnaha because they are a certified National Geographic partner and have a high regard for protecting the environment. Theyonly allow 10-20 visitors a day, whereas some of the other cenote tours willhave up to 200-300.

We are so THANKFUL for being able to share this special time together. We learned a lot about the environment and the Mayan Culture... and all they contributed to the modern world. Enjoy my photo tour on Flickr...
